Share Your World – 2014 Week 8

Share Your WorldIt’s that time again, time to share my world – thanks to Cee Neuner for this weeks questions. You can find out more about Cee’s weekly challenge here.

Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use or $100,000 to give anonymously to strangers?

I want to say $100,000. It was my first thought. But then I started to think about the responsibility that goes along with it. Having to decide where the money goes, torturing myself when the money runs out that I haven’t ‘given enough’, or wondering if I’d done the right thing. It’s a mine field. If I could use the money to establish a charitable organisation and have other people run it, maybe that would work. Then again, maybe I’m overthinking it, as usual. Perhaps a middle ground is needed – if I were given $10,000 to spread out among my family and friends. I’d do that equally and not obsess about it too much (well okay, only a little).

When you’re 90 years old, what will matter most to you?

Assuming that my children are well and happy, I’d say…that I’m healthy enough to still hold a pen (or type on a keyboard).

Candy factories of the entire world have become one and will now be making only one kind of candy. Which kind, if you were calling the shots?

Again with the responsibility. I’m developing a rash! No, seriously…it would have to be Cadbury’s chocolate. Any shape, any size, any added ingredient, I don’t care as long as it’s Cadbury and it’s chocolate.

So, you’re on your way out and it’s raining. Do you know where your umbrella is or do you frantically search for it all over your apartment/house?

I have no idea where my umbrella is because I’m a scatter-brain. If I didn’t put my keys in one place, I wouldn’t be able to find them either! But I wouldn’t use the umbrella even if I fell over it on my way out the door – I’d rather get wet than tackle the elements with something that blows inside out with the slightest breeze and has the ability to poke some poor unsuspecting person’s eyes out.

Thanks for reading

Until next time

  1. Can totally relate to the umbrella thing lol, and I think you are right I love the idea of being able to share out the $100,000 to anonymous strangers but I’m sure it would not be as easy as it seems, and ofcourse chocolate every time yummmmm.

  2. Thanks, Cee – for the lovely comment and for giving me the opportunity. I don’t get to share my humour often – my posts can be a little serious and though there is humour in my fiction; it doesn’t come out until I can truly be myself. Your prompt has allowed people to see a different side of me, so thanks again. Mel

I'd love to hear from you.
